Johnston has been assuming a supportive role at school, and this has given her the opportunity to work with many students at Bennington, including the students in our class. Johnston returned from a leave of absence in January and had been working part time until most recently. Under ordinary circumstances, I’d be replaced by an LTO (Long Term Occasional Teacher), someone new who would just be stepping into Bennington for the first time.
This means she is very familiar with all of the routines, rules and school culture at Bennington Heights. Johnston is an existing teacher at the school. Johnston will also be in attendance at the party, and it will give you the opportunity to get to know her better and ask her any questions or talk to her about any concerns you may be having.Īs most of you are aware by now, Jennifer Johnston will be replacing me at the end of the month. The party will begin after the school assembly, which will be sometime around 1:30 pm. During the party I will be handing out an award to each student to let them know just how special and valued they are in the classroom. If I’m missing anyone, please let me know.įriday is my last day at school and we will be having a class party to say our goodbyes. Peck and myself will figure out just how many spots we have available on the bus for parent volunteers by the end of the week. I’ve already spoken to some parents about driving up to Vaughn Mills themselves. If the parent volunteers are able to please contribute $5, this amount will help cover the cost of all parent volunteers. I don’t have the heart to tell anyone not to come because I know how much the students love building Lego, and how excited they are for this trip! Technically, LEGOLAND will pay for 4 adult volunteers, which also includes myself and Ms.
Everyone wants to come on this fantastic trip! This number does not include myself or Ms. We have 8 parent volunteers for this trip. On Friday we will also be having our Grade 1/2 spelling tests and Problem of the Week is due. If you have any empty water bottles, egg cartons or toilet paper/kitchen towel rolls, please bring them in to support our Earth Day fun! Thank you in advance for your help. If you are available, please let me know.įriday afternoon the students will participate in some really fun Earth Day activities. We are still looking for one more volunteer for Friday morning. Johnston will continue our Guided Reading program with support from Ms. This will be my last Guided Reading session with the students. Please dress your child in appropriate clothing and footwear and ensure that your child has water bottle to keep him/her hydrated.įriday morning is Guided Reading at 9:00 am.
